N2MINI MINI of the Month
I'm sure Hubie loves being mentioned in there as the engine builder but yet ads says it needs engine work!!
$15,000 bid so far. A steal at that price but I'm sure it will go for well above that... -
Since Howard is the one selling it. He's probably trying to make whatever money he can. It's all gravy for him. Especially considering 98% of the funds/work came from Hubie, Brian and whatever crew was left at that point.
-
It's over now. Sold for 15,600
It's a piece of crap, always has been. The intentions were good, it just never worked out. Best thing that can happen to this car is the usable bits are pulled off and sold off then the rest sent to be recycled. -
Yeah, sad really, it had so much potential, but you know, when you let a jackass absorb all the funds and energy making a remote control car rather than getting the performance sorted, well. There you have it!
The engine is sick, to be honest there's more than 15k in that alone. So whoever got it... just got something very special. I hope they take it back to Hubie and get it going. It will make silly horse power with a little time and money. -
Just knowing that it was part of the biggest FAIL in Mini Cooper history would keep me from paying one plug nickel for it....
Crush it and put it out of our misery. -
I am curious about the "fail" aspect? It ran for a time, showed well at events, got recognition as as a show car, was written up in a couple car magazines, etc. perhaps you personally know something about the "fail" part? I am interested. -
No inside info needed....
Did you not see the show Nitro or were you busy polishing something? When it was time to put up or shut up, about all it could do was idle around the track in limp mode.
Read: It would have shown better stock, it did not run.
.....but the RC car ran fine, is that what your talking about? Fireball looked pretty spiffy in his pizza suit too, maybe you can pick that up on Ebay!!!
The whole thing was FAIL beginning to end. -
N2MINI MINI of the Month
Surprised it didn't go for more just for the parts alone as was mentioned above. It has some good parts on it and interior stuff as well...
Stripe all that out of it and then sell the car off to a racer looking for a shell..
Plus the remote control thing..
Be interesting to see if it turns up running at some point in the future. New paint of course I hope!!!. -
That car was an embarassment to the entire MINI performance community -
MAJOR FAIL!! :mad2: -
ok so No personal information then..LOL
And none of us have ever had issues with our MINIs.
Respect the work that went into it, it may not be of ones individual taste but it was to someone.
It is easy to criticize individual custom work on a car when one has not done much customizing themselves.
I can see most of the ones responding here, it explains comments..... -
When they went on the tuner challenge with a Mini, they did so while representing the Mini community as a whole, like it or not.
While the other two tuners were showing and doing modifications that would actually make a difference, Fireball was running around in Pizza costumes, showing pinstriping and building a remote control car....
From a casual viewers point of view, they looked like a bunch of monkeys trying to rape a football.
It was complete and udder FAIL, and FAIL of that magnitude deserves nor gets any respect. -

Thank you all for playing, but that's enough.
