Good idea I was down at the shop (Helix) today and Eric is out next week. I did talk to Mike, the guy with the Blue Mohawk, that works on my car and he said give him a call and bring it and he we will fix it.
I reread the title of the OPs posting and thought, oh lord "desperate and needing advice", that could lead to all kinds of mischief here......lol
really hope the OP lets us know what Helix does for them. That's a cool car with a good, solid tune(lots of them out there)...it SHOULD run really well...
I like what Mike said to Dave O. "Bring it by and they'll FIX it". Not look at it. Not see what they can do. FIX IT! Count on it. Eric, Mike and the gang at Helix have my vote of confidence. You've asked for our advice, please keep us informed! Mike will get it squared away!
Before you give up on the car you need to get a better mechanic. The stuff you are describing is not unusual, unfortunately, for that engine. But letting you drive off with leaking valve covers is not. Was this a JCW chip tune?
Yes it is a JCW tune chip The3Stig, i haven't brought it to Helix yet because I don't want anyone pointing fingers at anyone as to who did what... Mini finally got back to me today so we should see how cooperative their going to be I will let you all know what happens. Rum4--- I was laughing when i wrote the title, sounds like a craigslist hookup post hahaha but it did work because I got all the help I needed to get my car fixed
That's good news and I hope everything works out for you and your MINI. FYI Helix will not point fingers at who did what and when. :nonod: That's not their style. They just want to make sure every MINI is in tip top shape and every customer leaves a happy customer in a well running and safe MINI.
