Minimal only works for so long, doe. Unfortunately, BMW is in the business of selling a lot of cars to a lot of people, and they want to sell more MINIs to more people... unfortunately that means watering down what makes MINI so great. That being said, the new interiors on the F56 (aside from the dimunitive tachometer, relocated speedometer, and limp clutch pedal) are pretty fantastic. The regular sport seats are better than my JCW Recaros.
If MINI wants to sell more cars to more people they need more dealers in more cities. The regular guy they are aiming the car at isn't going to drive an hour to test drive it, buy it or get it serviced. The ONLY people that do that are the enthusiasts (us) that they aren't building the car for.
The way I see it they aren't selling more cars. At least our local dealer is not. I have seen exactly 1 F56 out in the wilds. All others sit on the dealer lots. About that interior, disco lights???
Minimal only works for so long..... What car was the vehicle of the century and how long did that "best selling car of all time on the planet" go on as Minimal? BMW SUCKS and has ruined MINI.
Hey now, I'm not saying I don't like minimal. But the uneducated sheeple masses have decided that they're bored with the MINI brand and as such, BMW has decided to BMW-ify the MINI brand and dilute what makes it so great. BMW has given us bigger MINIs for those that cry that MINIs are too small, cushier suspension for those who can't bear to feel the road beneath them, and the loss of dipsticks for those who never knew what a dipstick was in the first place, etc.
BMW has ruined their own brand, now on to the MINI brand with more ruination. Now that there is progress. I wonder if they've noticed these F56 things are not selling?
I hate when society complains about something and they want it changed just for them. How about efffFF you, this is what we are selling and we are selling a ton of them. If you don't want to buy one then don't, currently we are taking orders and have a waiting list of those that do. So thank you for your interest but what you are looking is down the street at the FIAT, Hyundai, Kia and Honda dealers. Please exit the showroom now you uneducated sheep. Remember the customer is not always right. Rant over.
I'm actually seeing quite a few F56's around here. Some days I see more F56's than previous generations...
That's because you are in California and your state is responsible for most of this countries change garbage.:lol::lol: Did you know we are selling Calf to Mexico to pay off the nation dept. They are official going to call it Northern Mexico.
Cars in general are changing for the worse when it comes to driving enjoyment anyway... It's a shame. Sooner or later we'll be in a WALL-E state, with a bunch of obese bodies being shuttled about in their hoverchairs.
Not really if you have been to Cali recently you would have swore you were in Mexico.:lol::lol::lol:
Same goes for California's sister state... If I drive in certain parts of town there isn't a bit of English to be heard or seen.
I'm sure there are places in Mexico overrun with America's. Wonder if they birch about us down there?
Yes there is. It's near Guadalajara. I don't remember the name but it's a big retirement location. If you've been to south Florida you know how the Mexicans feel.
The current generation of marketing types just want to make it all the same so it can be one big love fest. They don't see differentiation. They'll be surprised soon because the new generation is all about being different. Look at Mazda and Subaru they went their own way and are new benefiting from it.
Eh, Subaru's becoming dumbed down, too. CVTs everywhere, no more Legacy GT, no more manuals on some trim levels. If you cater to the lowest common denominator, sooner or later, we all become the lowest common denominator. It's sad.
