Ow-40 is good stuff...tends to be a better oil group than 5w-40 or 5w-30 in my research... I would use it with ZERO hesitation in a mini...other makes that have switched to 0w-20 like Honda...maybe not...but on a mini where 40w is listed as a suggestion.. Do it... And buy the craven speeddipstick if you don't have one...
Isn't there a stick on panic button available for MINI Cooper dashboards? I remember seeing a picture somewhere.
WOW- 7 pages about 'dipsticks'. Some get tied into knots easily, some just bend over and play dead, some spring all over the place. AND, we have spent 7 pages just talking about dipsticks. LIFE ALERT---we need a life.
I'm not a big fan of the craven speed dip stick. The 1st gen is fine, easy to read (granted you know how to read a dip stick). Yes it gets brittle and could break. Its part of the maintenance program for these cars. Only buy OEM replacements. btw, have a gen 1 craven dipstick in a box that I tried. Happy to sell it. PM me.
Its just that I am getting a fault reading and after contacting cravenspeed I got no solution. I guess the problem is the end of the dipstick. What about changing it out?
