I wasn't sure where to post this its not a technical question more a venting thing.... So today I was changing my wheel bearings (chasing a problem etc long story) anyways all was going well until I got to the drivers side. Apparently my inner CV boot decided to spew its guts all over the place :mad2:. This happened on my passenger side last year and I had done a thorough inspection of the drivers boots after apparently not enough though. Not really sure where I was going with this post I guess just needed to blow off some steam. Maybe someone else has a story similar? I figure rolling further into the 100k plus territory things like this are bound to happen.
Sorry, but it is better to find that at home than on a long road trip far away. Hope that helps some.
:cornut: And your fan/serpentine belt(s). :cornut: Me too only I usually break something:mad2::mad5::incazzato: and then find a 3rd(now) thing wrong.:lol: Jason
Yep check that P/S fan. My MINI is on its 4th one. I'd replace the serpentine belt every 30K. Slipping belts cost horsepower on an R53.
Luckily the other things have been checked recently. I got a good look at the hoses while changing my thermostat a month ago. The serpentine belt is probably due soon i've inspected that but im getting close to the 30k mark on it. I don't believe mini's have a fan belt so I can scratch that off the list. I plan on checking my power steering fan next oil change.
