I got mine with the jack from Costco. Returned them when the jack turned out to be a worthless POS that locked with a load on it (lifting one end of a car and it seized....so much for 1.5T capacity...the rear of a Subaru weighs half of that at most).

Great suggestions, thanks. Was hoping to find something a bit less pricey, but maybe not.
Anyone have any issues with the base sizes on the flat top stands? 7" seems a bit on the small size. -

And the fact that they are designed to be used under an axle or other round support. -
Here's my solution......
I made my own....sort of.....these fit into the molded jack points on the MINI.....
Take a 2x4 and cut off a chunk 6" long. Cut a piece of hardwood a wee bit shorter and narrower but a wee bit TALLER than the jack point on the MINI. Pre-drill hardwood and glue and screw onto center of 2x4.
Next mark on reverse side of 2x4 where your curved jack stands touch and carve that are out to fit. Center as best as you can and test fit often.
When done, your curved jack stands are now flat jack stands with maybe 50 cents and a half hour spent.
Repeat 3 x's. Now your MINI is up off the ground and rock steady. I jack up a side at a time.

You don't need all that. I use hockey pucks, they are 1$ each at my local Play it Again sporting goods store.
I have some that are modified to fit into the OEM plastic lift blocks.
They are just pliable enough to conform to the jack stand contact point.
I'll post a picture if you like. -

Nice idea Less. I may have to do something like that, but of course will use some of the handy man's secret weapon on them.

My Hockey puck jack stand pads
The strip of rubber on top is secured with a cut down lag bolt and rubber cement. I counter sunk the washer and nut in the
bottom. They fit so well that I have gone off for a test drive, forgot to remove them and they were still in the plastic blocks two days later.
I found the rubber used for the strip along the railroad tracks, they use it under track bedding plates on concrete at crossings. -
Nice idea -- Good work! -

Nice hocky puck mod...
I just got the new issue of Roundell and saw the add I mentioned a while back. It looks a lot like the hocky puck.

Much better price than the moss mini ones: MossMini.com - Parts & Accessories for Your BMW Mini Cooper
And it looks like the profile is lower which is nice for lowered cars. -
Humm, look's like mine except X25 more expensive. Oh yeah they are so cheap to make I have 4 so I can get the MINI way up in the air!
Do I need to post a picture of a doubled up 12" lenght of 2"x8" lumber to use as a mini ramp, raises the lowered car 3" so you can get your jack under it? -

A strip of good plywood would work, you could glue a piece of red rubber to the top for an interference fit so they would stay in place while you adjusted your jack stand.
But really, the strip just locates and keeps it in place until the puck becomes the load bearing point.
Hockey pucks have a very high durometer hardness but are still complaint, they grip and conform very well on both types of my jack stands. -

Norm, do you use regular saddle type jackstands with these? If so, do they show any kind of deflection?
