I need floor mats in a big way. I don't have my OEM ones any more and the carpet is getting ratty under my heel. So do I get another set of OEM or go for Coco Mats? Stainless or Aluminium Plate is not going to happen but I am open to other ideas. Not a big fan of the rubber all season or weather-tech mats either.
OEM rubber ones for me. They have lasted almost 7 years & look like they have more left in them. I like cocoa mats, but my experience with them is I tend to wear them out prematurely.
I had carpeted floor mats on my '07 Cabrio (Justa) and when I switched to the MINI brand rubber mats, I was amazed at how much QUIETER the interior of the car became!!
Coco My first set lasted 5 years... And then were replaced for half price, that's their deal for as long as you own the car. The are sooooo much nicer than OEM.. And hide dirt..
I love my REAL COCO mats. I ordered them 3 years ago at the Dragon when they were there as a vendor. To this day they still look brand new after you rinse them off with water when they get too dirty. I use them all year long in the NE in salt and snow. Welcome To Cocomats.com Watch out for the fake versions of Coco mats they don't last at all. See the below look on how to find the knock-offs. I agree...I bought Coco mats after I met them at the Dragon a couple of years ago. They are the best!
My mats from cocomats.com are still doing well after 7 years. They are a premium, high quality product.
They don't sell the factory mats for the R53 in tan anymore, so I'll head to the Coco Mats next. I'm with you, Nathan... the OEM rubber mats are way too slippery. I got a set when the car was new to use during bad weather/winter. After 4-5 uses, I left 'em in the garage as I just wasn't safe with my feet sliding around.
I've never tried Coco Mats so maybe I would like them better but my favorite mats I've ever owned are the Hex-O-Mats I have now (bought from Bavarian Autosport). I know, they're rubber and all-weather...you're not a fan, etc. On the other hand, I've never found them to be slippery at all, they're better looking than most and blend in well (IMO), they're heavy duty, they don't move around, plus made in the U.S.A. and come with a lifetime warranty.
I didn't want a colored pattern in my cocomats, and I got the all-black with a herringbone weave. Something that doesn't show up well in photos is that cocomats have a rich, deep textured weave. Photos tend to make them look more flat, like a carpet.
Real COCO mats (not cheap FleaBay knockoffs) are excellent. I ordered a set at the Dragon a few years back and they still look brand new.
Hmm, did not know these existed. Schooled again! :aureola: ...and they'll send a swatch to you for $1 to verify the color match before ordering!
Do the Coco mats slide around like the OEM ones do? I hate pulling my OEM mat back into place every time I drive.
My Cocoa Mats don't slide around because I have the Velcro type hod downs by the base of the seat. Cocoa Mats are dope!
