I don't care about anyone so obviously I haven't been vaccinated. In truth I usually don't get flu shots and may yet get the H1N1 vaccine but I sure won't be hopping in line ahead of any health-care workers, teachers, parents, kids, elderly, well...I probably won't get it. Instead I obsessively clean and sanitize things and wash my hands to a level that may indicate another problem.
My understanding, is theirs an upper respiratory thing going around that is, or is causing the H1N1 flu. I have had both....... while in the doctor's office getting antibiotics for the crap the swine had caused (sinus infection, sore throat, etc.), my doctor insisted I get a regular flu shot which I have never gotten in the past, but he insisted :rolleyes5: Why get the flu shot at this point? Supposedly, the H1N1 is what's going around right now (got that covered now).... the regular (if you want to call it that) flu has not circulated around yet. So in theory, I will not get that one... I usually don't get the flu, but some people at work had gotten the H1N1, and since we are in such tight, cubical quarters, I guess I was screwed from the beginning. FYI- It was not horrible, and it seems to affect people differently..... some are getting the respiratory thing, some are being affected stomach-wise. I don't normally get "stomach" sick. it's been over 2 weeks since I got sick, and I am finally feeling 100% better. I was out of work for 3 days (it hit on a Saturday)... so I felt the worst for about 5 days.
I seem to get 'some' bug in the fall and spring. Got a flu shot about 10 yrs back and ever since I get the flu in the same frequency however the symptoms seems a heckuva lot less severe. I was joking with a co-worker after a mild round that I did not get the kind of flu that makes your 'hair hurt' anymore. Kinda says it all Debating the H1N1 as I understand it is a completely different strain of bug. Right now as I understand even if I did want a vaccination I'm not in the demographic that is in line to receive one right now anyway
