So, when I bought this car it came with a 3mo/3,000mi warranty from the dealership. This somewhat complicated the matter but it all worked out in the end. I told them what happened and they wanted their tech to look at it before I took it to MINI for repair. In addition to the blown engine mount I had what was diagnosed by the jeep dealer the day after I bought it as a washer fluid leak. They said it was overfilled and it should be fine once it drains down a bit. I was skeptical about this and there was a few drops on my garage every day since which made me figure they were flat out wrong. I figured I would wait until I got my oil changed since I was almost at 30,000 miles and have the experts look at it. So Liberty Jeep wanted to take a look at the issues again before going to said experts and they diagnosed it this time as a coolant leak and they couldn't tell where it was coming from (helps when you actually put the car on a lift and look from underneath which they neglected to do the first time). Since they couldn't figure it out, and I was already going to MAG for my oil change, I kept my appt. and told them about everything including the warranty the car came with and dealing with Liberty, plus I'd rather drive around in a MINI loaner rather than a Chrysler loaner any day. So, after 3 days and quite a bit of back and forth with Liberty and MAG, I got a new motor mount installed and a new thermostat installed all covered under the used car warranty and all I had to pay for was my oil change. Communication was somewhat lacking but in the end Liberty's customer service was very good. If anyone is in the market for a Jeep and around the Columbus area, I'd recommend them any time.
Oh, and if you actually do go there to buy a Jeep, tell them Brian Vance sent you and see Wes Johnston. Good sales guy and I get a little bonus for sending you .
Good to know it worked out well. I'm surprised to hear of that kind of cooperation from a dealer honoring their warranty for work through another dealer. We don't hear positive results like this often enough. It's only because we all tend to do our venting online about dealer and/or warranty bad news stories but it can give a skewed impression for anyone hunting for information. Thanks for the good news update.
Yea, I can change oil, I usually choose not to though. I find it more of a pain than it is worth and dealing with the used oil afterwards is just a nuisance. I'm getting lazy in my old age
I understand being lazy & old. :yesnod: Welcome to my world brother. I drain the oil into a jug & schlep it over to Advanced auto parts where I bought it.
