I'm glad they retained the genius of the hind quarter lines of the original. Ford has my attention, and would have my money if you people would buy 100 of everything on my website right now. Chop chop.

The off road model is also used to place furrows in the fields at high rates of speed.

Ford doesn't have MSR anymore. Michael Shank is going to campaign a Ligonier powered by Honda. I can't wait until MSR blows the doors off of the Fat Man....err Chip Ganassi at the Rolex.

I love it BUT, if you take most of the supercars and paint them all black, take all the badging off most people couldn't tell them apart.. brand to brand

One of my favorite top speed comparisons was when Car and Driver pitted Al Holbert's 962 Porsche against Tim Richmond's NASCAR Monte Carlo in ~1987. I think they ran at Firestone's 7-mile oval at Ft. Stockton, TX. One would expect that the Porsche would run away from the taxicab, but that just wasn't the case. The Porsche topped out at 214 mph, and the Monte Carlo did 242. Car and Driver said the reason that the Porsche wasn't faster was that its high-downforce aerodynamics caused too much drag. The only aerodynamic mod they made to the flying brick was to duct tape the hood. IIRC they ran the Porsche with and without the tail extension, but there was no appreciable difference in the speed. A little useless information, but I thought some might find it interesting. :D

That's because Ford screwed over MSR in my opinion. Used them to develop the engine than all the attention went to Ganassi when they jumped in at the last minute. :frown2:

Yes MSR was most likely screwed. Ganassi has huge money behind him. I'm sure it was the $$$$,$$$ that made the difference to Ford. I hope MSR has a great year & wins their part of the championship. Have to root for the hometown team.

I've been drooling over the pics from Ford's shock reveal at the NAIAS. It's a concept, I think, but they plan to be selling it in less than two years (and one article claims they'll be racing it sooner) so it may be pretty close already to the way it will look in production form.

I don't like it at all! It has too many creases and folds.

It looks like an origami transformer.

I love the look in general but I'm with you on the "too many" creases and folds.

Like others have said, I'm sure much of the shape is a result of wind tunnel testing and aerodynamics, but I'd bet money that at least some of those creases are down to unfortunate (IMO) aesthetic choice. It's a fad I'm not fond of (also why was less than thrilled when the BMW Z4 came out with more creases than the Z3. I'm sure they could have smoothed out a few of those sharp edges on the GT without negative aero effects.
