Some posts are just too darn good to be left buried in a thread. Take for example the posts below. agranger hits this nail firmly on it's head with his take on a the usage of "Friggin'" as it pertains to Quarts, Bolts and Tools. Originally found in the thread Water Pump Replacement
After a small bit of discussion we were gifted with this following post. This too is a real gem that I felt needed to be part of the "Friggin'" thread... Thanks to agranger for his insight and humor.
:cornut:Originally 'friggin' quarts(plural not singular) were the unknown number(to the asker) of quarts required to fill the cooling system of the car in question, there by making them an unknown quantity and a great frustration(to the asker) hence becoming 'friggin' quarts. This great knowledge finally burst forth to the asker from the retainer of such great knowledge but, teasingly, was given in liters(not 'friggin' liters as they are a known quantity) to tickle the mathmatical abilities of the original asker. Being an English to Metric(and vise versa) scholar of some renown, the asker quickly converted liters(5.2) to(5.5) 'friggin' quarts('friggin' due to being an unknown but desperately needed number)but then becoming a known quantity; They were now merely quarts and no longer 'friggin'quarts. The original asker truly and firmly believes that under these peculiar circumstances; the intended and correct use of the proper term 'friggin' is rightly upheld.
