When you replace the battery it will have to be registered. This helps the ECU charge it in a way that will make it last longer. As has already been said Mini's hate bad battery. If one is going bad it can cause all sorts of odd behavior and codes.

No IBS on my R60. I was a little surprised to figure that out a few weeks back. So, an update. The footwell module (FRM) was covered under a warranty extentending (up to 10yr/156k miles) Technical Service bulletin in some vehicles. I also just received a recall letter for a secondary cooling fan control board. I called to confirm that my car falls in the footwell wonk affected group. It was. The hour drive was worth it to drop it off, get two things fixed and get a cheap (yeah, right) diagnosis of a low fuel pressure gremlin I've been chasing. But I AM driving a fresh off the lot MCS as a loaner. So I'll take it.
They're also taking a look at the intake. This may start to clear the debate. They think the low fuel pressure ping may be a computer glitch due to odd airflow from carbon clogged intake valves and the normal math the system does to accommodate to expected buildup. I do t buy it, but we'll see.
