I'm still not quite there. So the center of the PF bushing is spherical?

Yes the center of the PF bushing is round. So it doesn't have to be indexed in any way. Just lube and put them in.

    Round like a cylinder

but the stocker has no surface that slide, so if you're lowered, it's twisted.

Another reason to not like the part! ;)

Had mine replaced a few hours ago in preparation for a track day. Second set of stockers worn out in 48k miles. Went with PowerFlex since I already have them on the other Mini and like them. The difference is very noticeable and not subjective. The turn in is much more precise. Braking is more controlled. Where going over bumps at speed the steering wheel would feel "floppy" it now feels much more tighter and precise.

I big shout out goes to my boy Danny at Minicorsa. He stayed late past his normal shop hours so I can get there and get it done. And he got me out in a hurry. I have seen women take longer to turn me down then it took him to replace the bushings. If you are in his area, don't think twice, he is the man for the job.

Wow... 21 pages was a lot to read... seems I missed the excitement...

I've installed Powerflex bushings in a number of friends' cars as well as our '03 MCS. So far no complaints. I would probably install them in our '07 Sidewalk, except they would throw me out of HS... :(

Well, technically they don't 'make' anything at the moment. I know this isn't what you meant, but:

I'm afraid I temporarily derailed this thread and I'd like to bring it back to Drew's question.

What's this about hardness options? I've seen PF bushings offered here and there but I don't think I've seen any vendor either offer different versions or say which version they sell...or maybe I just haven't been paying attention...

I assumed (I saw it too), I was asking whether anyone else had any info about the different hardness levels. I suppose it makes sense to assume vendors all choose whichever they think is the best of the range and that's their only offering...and that they probably all sell the mediums...not that there's anything wrong with that... :wink5:

    Just don't buy

any that claim a new special "heat treatment" unless they're really at a discount!

Not that this is a definitive answer by any means, but they don't list anything about hardness or any additional part numbers on their site for that particular bushing. Perhaps they offer vendors a choice though...

They do offer an additional "motorsport support" for that bushing location which is interesting.
