Ok, Everyone in the US carries the same ones. Meaning they are the same hardness. The way to tell is the center is purple and the outer part is black. As for PF making a harder version, YES they do be WMW is the only that has ever ordered any, but we haven't recieved them yet. Since they had the fire and all. But we had ordered them to do some testing. We think they are going to be a great RACE Version. I think they will be too hard for street use, but we won't know until we have them in our hands. I'll let you know as soon as we finish testing. As for the Motorsport part you see listed, that is a fancy screw with a big washer that is suppose to go at the back of the control. I have a few sets, but I personally will tell you that I don't think that washer is going to do anything since there isn't any reward force on the bushing.
That is correct. Technically we could have the bushings made using the softer poly but they would be too soft to last any length of time.
We can get Powerflex durometers in soft, medium and hard (track) as a special order. These take about 4 weeks to get. Here is a section I lifted from their website: Bushings come in pre-determined durometers (measured hardness) from Powerflex to work best in each particular location. If you feel you need a softer or harder compound to suite your particular needs and the option is not available, contact us. We can custom order in durometers ranging from 70A(Yellow), 80A(Purple), and 95A(Black). 70A is slightly harder than rubber and works great for drivers looking for a slight increase in chassis response. 70A is not suggested in certain location due to its lack of rigidity. 80A is noticeably harder than rubber and makes a great performance street material that retails low levels of NVH. 95A is the hardest, and can be used in certain locations with minimal NVH. For most locations, 95A is used for aggressive/track use only. Custom durometer bushing sets take at least 4 weeks for delivery. Regards, [email protected]
We have just created a large batch of 81.67A(kind of a greyish brown) which fuses our yellow, purple and black durometers together into a "smoking hot" new blend. Once this has cooled down a bit we will be able to slice off a chunk for you.
I think most of our stock order was in that HOT new blend. We had some of the standard bushing sets and the Hard black durometer being special made for us.
this is a bit off topic if they do custom durometers what about a new upper rear brushing. I hear the stock is very soft and the madness is too hard for street. just a thought, back to the thread. -Jonathan edit: fix poor grammar and spelling
We actually have already talked to PF about making those rear bushings for us, but it will take them a little while to get them designed. Also I do have the control arm bushings in stock, we are the last in the US with any, I just hope my supply will last until we get our next batch, but don't think it will. If you are wanting them call me ASAP.
The Madness bushings are softer than Powerflex; the sleeve bushing can be seen stretching and compressing when the control arm is run through its range of motion. Comparing the ride between the PF and Madness bushings, I say the Madness bushing is better suited for street use than PF’s purple & black bushing.
I just removed my Pivots while installing a front sway bar, My powerflex Bushings were in stalled at 40,000, now with 96.000, they are perfect, i cleaned them and used a lil of the lube sent with my h sport bars, They are are tight as the day i installed them, The car has been tracked, Drove in frezzing wyoming winters. Very Impressed with POWERFLEX I did install the Madness bushing on my rearshocks whie installing my koni yellows, I felt it got rid of the high frequency bounce in the rear, The Foamish factory bushing were super soft Give em 3 thumbs up........ oh wait that isn't a thumb
Any word on PF's recovery from the big fire? Are they fully back in business and keeping up with product shipment again?
Just out of curiosity, where would the excess tire wear be seen with shot bushings? I'm 99% sure my front control arm bushings are shot to hell since the wheels move when I kick them, but I've been noticing some extra wear on the outer edge of the tires.
the front tires. all based on alignment and tire pressures. do a hard shift from first to second, if you hear a loud clunk, the bushings are shot. or a less fun way is to tq. your lugs and if the wheel moves, but the body doesn't they are shot. Chad Detroit Tuned
