I'm old school. I drop the tank to 1/4 or less then dump a bottle of Berryman B-12 Chemtool Fuel Treatment (B-12 Chemtool MSDS) in the tank and run until I'm almost on fumes. Then fill up again and run down the road.
The first three primary ingredients are: Tolulene, Acetone, and Methanol. With some Methyl-Ethyl Keytone (MEK) and other "evil" solvents thrown in for good measure. Berryman makes "friendlier" cleaner solutions. However, after using this stuff on FI Fords for years I have never seen a product work better. You'll know you have the right stuff because it's in a metal bottle. You won't find this stuff in a plastic one...
The best part is that you can use a half can in your oil, run the car for 2-5 mins then shut-off and drain the oil. It will break down a ton of build-up oil in the crankcase.

Les I run a bottle of Chevron Techron though all our cars just before every oil change. I pour it in the tank. FWIW I feel it is cheap insurance.

+1 on the Techron. I run a bottle when I clean the air filter, every 10k. Buy a bottle and toss it in the trunk, then next time you fill up, pour it in.

Another Techron fan here. Whenever I have a drive planned that will use at a least a full tank and run a bottle of Techron through the system too. Like this Saturday when I drive up to Detroit for the Detroit Tuned Spring Clean Up Party.

If you are using Chevron (or even 76) gasoline then you are already getting the benefits of just about a full bottle of the cleaner everytime you fill up the tank.

Shell also has an excellent additive package. I wouldn't waste my money on anything additional if I were running Chevron/76/Shell.

One mans wasted money is another's well spent money. Seems it is often on sale, when it is I stock up.
No Chevron gas in Hooterville. -

Also, another benefit of Techron is the preservative effects it has on your fuel system. If you're going to store the car for a few weeks, put a bottle in a tank that's at least half full and run the car for a minute to distribute it through the fuel lines. (source: dvatp.com) -
I had used Techron for years, recently tried the Lucas Oil product, thought it did a better job. Nothing concrete data wise, pure butt dyno
Several years ago I asked a mechanic who was working on one of my Honda's and his recommendation was to use fuel injector cleaner every other oil change. Followed it ever since -
This is good stuff gang.
Thanks for all your replies.
