I wonder if someone puked in those cars and that's why they were using the wand on the insides?

Being marketed to countries with too many people and not enough disposable income... Maybe?
All of the same safety features were absent from the big 3 automaker's cars made back in the 60's.... They compensated by making the cars really big and heavy... Still.... I remember riding in my parents car before seatbelts and getting thrown around when dad would slam on the brakes and say "magic" words.... It was a real carnival ride... We wanted "MORE".....
