Yep, it turns red if you go over the posted limit, so all you have to do is change the limit and all is good. Jim
Change the limit to suit your mood. Officer I can't be speeding my Garmin says the speed limit is 85 here.
I like how that shows the estimated arrival time for both the via point and the final destination. Is it possible to change those to show estimated time remaining or miles to destination?
I'm not sure, but since it is already 100+ out side I will play around with it, in the comfort of the AC and let you know. It will also give the elevation, but it does not seem to be correct. I never plan to get above "zero feet" AGL anyway, so I am not sure of the reason for this feature. Jim
As Promised. You can change any of the first three to: Arrival Time Distance Time to Destination Via Arrival Time Distance to Via Time to Via Direction of Travel Evaluation Time of day The bottom one always remains "speed" Jim
Much thanks!!!! Evaluation??? "You are too slow a driver. You must sell this car and buy a Prius!!!"
I noticed that even if you have Life Time Traffic, with the silly adds, you can still purchase additional traffic reports from other vendors. Anyone know if you purchase a different one, will the adds stop? The one I bought for my 760 was only something like $16.00 for life. Jim
And the answer is......YES. You can purchase lifetime "Navteq" or "Clear Channel" and the adds will go away. Jim
Mark, I did not answer this question correctly, so I'll clear that up. I had really never looked at the GPS when in reverse, since I normally look out the rear window when backing up. The other day I noticed that when I pulled up in my driveway, which is not on the map, it showed me sitting on the correct side of the main road. Then I backed into my spot and noted it now showed me on the opposite side of the road which I thought odd. The next day I watched it closely and when I moved in reverse, the little car did a complete 180 and was pointing toward the bottom of the screen. I could see the front bumper and the bonnet stripes, which I have never seen before. Then the screen rotated (I have direction of travel to the top) turning the car with it and I was on the wrong side of the main road. I then pulled forward about a foot and the car did another 180, the screen turned and I was back in the correct side of the main road again. So, the answer to you question is "yes" it does show you going in reverse, but it makes it look like you are going forward in a rearward direction. Jim
Just discovered something new with this Garmain. When in the Map Screen, you can touch the Speed section (lower right side) and a new screen comes up. Top center has speed and compass. Left Top RPM, Right Top battery and Water Temp under the MPH. The OBDII port gives all readings EXCEPT MPH, which is actual. There are two millage counters and other information about times for the distance you traveled. This works great, as I have my gauges and REAL TIME MPH. Jim
Lots of info that thing can give. I'm due for a new GPS & I'll buy another Garmin. I'll have to check that one out.
