Never will understand why Ford and Subi doesn't want to carry a 2 door "Tuner Car". That is the main reason I'd not buy one. If I needed a 4 door family ride it'd be something else, and if I want a sporty car it will have just 2 doors.. Sure some of the 4 door ones look nice once modded alittle but imagine what it'd look like with 2 less doors..

Watched the majority of the launch event. Not a fan of the mouth piece it is wearing and a little disappointed that there aren't larger fender flares and brake vents. Interesting to see what the price will be here in the US.

Four doors add a little weight, but often stiffen the chassis. I might take that trade-off. How much is this thing going to be?

I think it looks good. The ST I drove was fun to drive too. I don't care if it has 4 doors, just more room to hide the body's.
I bet the two door is not much shorter.

Also at least Ford can make a good looking car despite the EU pedestrian laws. Unlike MINI that uses it as an excuse for there lame styling. And why does the 2.0 in the MINI not put out more HP. oh I know we wouldn't want to show up BMW!

Ford steps to the plate....Here comes the pitch...Swing!!

    It's a solid double.

    Definitely not a home-run.

IMHO, Ford is making a big mistake with this. This is the "entry level" RS, with a hint that more powerful versions may be coming. They pulled a Porsche, that engine is detuned. The question will be how easy will it be for independent tuners to get more power out of it easily. With the exception of the AWD, the older RS 500 looks better. I wish they would have put something eye-opening out to begin with; they're taking a huge risk with the "more may be coming later" approach. I'll wait on that, and pass on this, thank you very much.

It's ok. I feel a bit letdown though, I was expecting more.

I think it looks good despite the four doors. One of those rare, good looking (to me) small 4-doors. My only real gripe re the look is the nose seems a bit like trying too hard to look cool....but only just a bit, looks pretty good overall.

I dont really mind the extra doors. When I had my EVO I forgot they where back there...

I bet they mark the price up around $38-$40K, just because they will own the class... The WRX/STi is going the way of the old Honda Si models... They keep getting bigger heavier and more loaded down with tech gadgets that dont belong in a performance car...

    The EVO is dead.

And there really isnt much else left in the US for AWD performance cars, unless you want all the weight and luxury stuff crammed into an Audi. :(

What frustrates me is the good euro and japanese cars never make here. Hopefully with the Alfa being here things will change. Back in the day US folks wouldn't be seen dead in a small car now you see plenty. Still saying that I'd like to test drive the RS.

I like my car to much to get rid of it for a Ford. If you what a Ford then just buy it and keep the Mini so you don't regret it later.

ST is 3223. RS will probably be 3300ish.

Waited until the last second on this, and punted. The MINI will be soon on it's way to Irvine instead, I'd rather blow my money there.

It may not be so simple to trade the FS in, these are going to be tough to come buy. If you don't have an in, work on getting one....
