Is it just me, or does it appear that the site isn't recognizing Google Maps HTML code inserted using [GMAP][/GMAP]? Looking at all of the existing state-specific entries I see lots of preexisting code but no maps. I was going to upload some route recommendations but figured I'd wait until I was sure about this. ---
Interesting - I have the google API installed. Let me look into this and see if there is something else I need to add/change. Thanks for bringing this up.. I’ll get back with you.
So did some quick research.. appears this isn’t native for XF. So I will need to do as an add-on or do some development. Still researching though... as am researching while sitting at boys swim meet..
Can you send me an example link you are trying to use? Appears there are a number of different ways to do google maps file integration.
Scratch that - I see the links in that section.. looking into this. Appears there was a plugin on vb to allow for this. Trying to find one for XF. Also, I need to "learn" how to use this feature of google.. so I better understand the options. From what I understand you can actually export the map as a GXF file.
For local club use purposes I share the link to the map on my Google Drive since the limited number of participants only need to access it for a finite period of time; however, that approach wouldn't be a good, elegant, or permanent solution for a longer-term MA map repository. Hopefully there is an XF plugin or suitable alternative.
Still looking into this.. but some other things came up (server move in particular).. will get back on this soon.
Quick update - the server move to the new hosting company is in process. We will do the initial data migration and testing.. then schedule the move. Once that is done, I will begin working on this again.. its a little more complex than I thought to get this updated. But will figure out a way.
