100 miles later and only one minor hiccup so far. The car lost communication with the throttle body for whatever reason on Friday, leaving me pretty much dead in the water with traffic soon approaching.

I have since applied some dielectric grease to the connection and haven't had any recurring issues.

If all goes well this week I should have 200+ miles on the Gnat and we'll let him rest for the long ride home to Columbus when Nate comes to rekindle their relationship.

I heard that DT has installed a new answering machine. When caller ID sees Nathan's number, it switches to a recording, "This number is no longer in service".

Yes, the shop made a big tadoo about how they use OEM stuff. I guess I didn't get which "OEM Stuff" it was designed for clarified.

Yeah the valve was badly broken, the valve seat was melted, and the head it self was melted, so there is actually a hole between the valve seat and the spark plug hole. Nate is now taking bids for this piece of history. The head will be cleaned and signed buy Nate and all mechanics that have touched it since 2007! Let this piece of art sit in your living room today!

Not to put words in Chad's mouth, but I think he means there is time. Not that they can do it there at the shop.

Chad probably knows where to get the injectors done right or ask the head designer.

Yeah the valves and all the valve seats should be refreshed / refreshed. After the injectors are cleaned and rebuilt with new O rings and pigtails you should be good to go again.

Also don't forget to have the single prong NGK's installed and get the ViPEC tune updated.

A little over 1400 miles from Columbus to Aspen, one way - that's a significant drive.....

I'm trying to get things arranged in my life so I can go.

Good to see you found the problem Jan.

Best of luck to Nathan in getting GNAT back up and running stronger than ever!

No, it was in Dallas. The shop is gone, the land sold to the state to widen I-35E.

Had a quick Chad Chat today. All the parts are there now. Slated to start Friday on getting it up and running first. From there we'll explore a bit of a wish list.

I understand the head gasket is rather thick. Hopefully the crack Detroit tuned team will take a few snap shots along the way.
