That would make sense. It was very very wet there and then quite misty too. The next day was much dryer.

Have to add check the wheel speed sensor connections to the list of little things to check out.

I used to have DSC issues whenever it rained. I squeezed some dielectric grease in the connections on all four wheels and that fixed it. I also had to trim off one of the mounting studs when I installed brake coolers. I re-oriented one of the connections so it doesn't get nearly as wet when it rains.

A "smudge" on the sensor ring? Can't it be cleaned off?

Isn't that a prox sensor? If so, a smudge (like grease or something) shouldn't bother it, about the only thing that should bother it is a missing tooth on the ring or some such.....to my way of thinking.

And water should have no impact whatsoever, unless the sensor is bad and water can get into it and short it out.

    Still curious about this.....

    ^ plus 1

Spray it with brake clean. Pull apart the connection clean & put some dielectric grease in there. If the tone ring is damaged you may need an axle. I don't believe the tone ring is available separately, but as always I may be wrong about that.

It's the wheel bearing that would be giving the issue. the ring on the back that is read by the sensor has a rub mark or some sort on it. we sprayed it down and looked everything over, but there was nothing that looked like it was giving the problem. the sensor is reading but the code it gives is that it misses a tooth every wheel rotation. replacing the sensor will not help this problem at all..and pulling the sensor out will only break the sensor and make us have to replace it. ..but his car is from TX so it might be better but MI cars they are RUSTED in place and have to be drilled out. due to funds it's going to be left as it for now. :donut1:

It was the wheel in that position. Maybe you are onto something there.

I love this time of the year in the morning. Cool air and Meth makes my motor run really really good on the way to work.

Glad to hear everything is still going well Nate.
