:cornut: WHAT VIDEO:eek6:.......................that great audio distracted me from every thing else:lol: Jason
It's a G2X by Racepak. I had bigger plans for the unit to log all kinds of data but it never worked right for me so now I use it as a speedo, tach and lap timer only. Since the G2X they have much better units on the market. If I was to do it now I'd go with this Racepak Data Systems - Professional Motorsports Data Acquisition Systems
Now that the engine starts up and runs it is time to tackle the exhaust. Lining everything up... This goes there The artsy instagram version No turning back now! Keeping it all straight and level
:cornut: So............. I guess that we could say: "ah blow it out Gnatster's a$$!":eek6::lol: Nathan, that is very nice looking exhaust equipment. Jason
I have the feeling based on old versus new that the new exhaust is going to need ear plugs when we stand by Gnat. I would love to hear another short video after the exhaust is hung and tuning begins. All I can say what an adventure to watch a MINI come back alive!
Seeing the below I think you are onto something there... At least it will not have that embarrassing rattle at idle! Here we have a bit more stuff being hung and in place
A million years ago when I was mechanican for a living, I was in the middle of an overhaul on an MBZ 300 SL engine, when the owner stopped by. You have to understand, when I was 19 I looked like I was maybe 14. The owner saw me deep in the bowels of his beloved Mercedes and stormed into the boss's office screaming about not letting that kid touch his car! The boss smoothed him over and said something like I was only doing clean up and under his complete & watchful eye - which was an inside joke - I was doing the whole job! Anyway, a few weeks later tthe guy came back by and I told him I was just about to start it for the first time, and not to get his hopes up as sometimes things didn't always go well the first time on a new engine like this - his face fell and he was ready to call the towtruck to take it out of there when I reached in and turned the key - it started instantly and just purred! He went straight to the bosses office and wrote a big check, smiling ear to ear. Of course it was all a set up, I'd already had it running for a couple of days and already had it tuned..... We return you now to your regularly scheduled thread.....
