MINI is sitting in the Detroit Tuned spa now. Not a bad drive today, the little bit of snow a few times did make things a little interesting but nothing that driving slower and paying attention didn't overcome.
Neither, someone in the MoM "group" was kind enough to follow me up to Detroit and then give me a ride back. I'll be using foot power for the most part for the next few weeks. Now and then getting a ride when the need arises. I do live in an urban area where most things I usually access are within walking distance. For me it will be a new experience. I've gone a week with out wheels before, but this will be 4-6 weeks. Just think of the all the gas money I'll be saving! Might even drop a pound or two and get a littler better fit in the process.
Love it!!! Dad owned one like that back in the 50's. We always called it the rocket car. ut: For the styling not the performance. Nathan if needed I'm sure the MoM shuttle is still circulating around.
Damn, Nathan...sorry to hear about the engine problems again! Fingers crossed that you'll be up & running in plenty of time for the Dragon!
:cornut: Nathan, Please keep us up dated as DT tears into and fixes your MINI. I mean, we all really want to know and it's good press for DT. Jason
1st Update from Chad.... The Freon has been removed from the A/C system in preparation of engine removal. Woohoo!!! Progress....yeah buddy!
Refrigerant please...... Freon is the trade name for Dupont's Refrigerant.. Just one of my pet peeves being in the HVAC field for a long time
By this time this car is back on the road this thread will be of epic proportions! Can't wait for some pics to start showing up of what happened....
Sweet. Seems like there's been a dearth of good picture-heavy deconstruction/construction threads lately.
Need to clean the patient to get things underway. MINI being washed in 30 degree temps when it's raining out too... After the drive up from Columbus with a bit of snow in the air and lots of salt on the ground it was one dirty MINI.
