^ plus 1 Spray it with brake clean. Pull apart the connection clean & put some dielectric grease in there. If the tone ring is damaged you may need an axle. I don't believe the tone ring is available separately, but as always I may be wrong about that.
why muck around with trying to fix a busted sensor....just replace the damn thing 03 2003 Mini Cooper ABS Speed Sensor - Brake - Beck Arnley, VDO, Front, Rear - PartsGeek there...70 bucks for a new one and your good
It's the wheel bearing that would be giving the issue. the ring on the back that is read by the sensor has a rub mark or some sort on it. we sprayed it down and looked everything over, but there was nothing that looked like it was giving the problem. the sensor is reading but the code it gives is that it misses a tooth every wheel rotation. replacing the sensor will not help this problem at all..and pulling the sensor out will only break the sensor and make us have to replace it. ..but his car is from TX so it might be better but MI cars they are RUSTED in place and have to be drilled out. due to funds it's going to be left as it for now. :donut1:
Maybe the rub marks are from an old Team Dynamics rim the exploded of the track one time. Hummmmm... I dont think it was that wheel though. I dunno.....:beer
It's been a bit since I updated this thread. Really nothing to report. Just turned 69,000 miles, that's about 6,000 since the rebuild. Had an oil change at a local MINI/BMW shop. Looked everything over and didn't find anything odd looking outside. Still runs great, even better really now that the weather has turned cooler. It's a hoot to drive, pulls and pulls from 3,500 to redline Keeps a smile on my face.
I love this time of the year in the morning. Cool air and Meth makes my motor run really really good on the way to work. Glad to hear everything is still going well Nate.
I can't help myself Dave. Every time you say meth I picture you with a syringe stuck in your arm.
