Since it is in the shop getting paint, I've asked them to fix other areas such as the broken side skirt, clean up and repaint the stone chips on the rear arches, remove some rust along with various other small areas that need some work. This extra work is all on my dime. While I don't expect it be a pristine factory like paint job, a lot of the accumulated patina is going to be "fixed". There has been some discussion as to what the Silver top paint code actually is, the shop contacted MINI directly and found out it is in fact Pure Silver Metallic, paint code 900.
Yep it's looking good. Saddens me somewhat though. Now my MINI is going to have the most stone dings. I best get the paint pen out & start touching up.
If you like that kind of "Patina" stay tuned later this year/early next year... There may be a little something along those lines in the works out this way...
I'm digging the silver top! Before I got mine, I didn't like the look of one color body and a different colored top. And though my white top is a pain in the ass to keep clean, I wouldn't have it any other way. Plus it makes it easier to spot in a parking lot, lol.
Stopped by the shop real quick and snapped a few more pics The hood look incredible. There were small lines one could see before around the louvers where the cut line is. You can't see them anymore
Nathan.... Just tell Keen's to leave all those plastic bits off... That's adding lightness.... You'll also get the Gnatster back quicker / quicker.... Win / Win
