GNAT's Gnu is just me having fun with alliteration. I do enjoy a bit of the word play now and again.
The stripes are "GranSport" stripes. Back in the 60's before the real onset of sponsor liveries on race cars the Corvette GranSport team had 3 cars all in the same blue paint. To distinguish then from one another as they went zipping by the pits 2 diagonal hash marks adorned the front drivers side fender. These are an homage to them. -
That is a refreshing change, unique and understated, but classy too. I like it.
