Why has my 2005 MCS never liked one step colder plugs? Every time I switch to them it stumbles under acceleration and when I switch back the problem goes away? I have tried it under several configurations after the pulley and it always happens. mods: 15%, header, intake, exhaust, cam, tuned (205 whp)
Good question... Get these and see what happens... Autolite APP 3923 set gap at .035 These are the basic spark for a lot of applications, it is one step colder and usual cost is 2.45 each!! Even Walmart/ autozone ect carry them. When I went to a real cold plug for my Nitrous... it took a few minutes for the ECU to accept... and Now you would not even know they are there. Just saying..................... Thumper
im going to assume that the 07-12 shift cables on the black box will not work on an 04 with black shift box. is this correct?
Why does my clutch sound like chewbecca? Do I need to replace something? It's getting embarrassingly loud? How often should the supercharger fluid and belt be changed? Why do auto shops in my small town tell me that the SC fluid does not need to be changed?
Check Engine Light Has anyone had issues with the evap valve in the gas tank? or the fuel cap itself? I have replaced mine 3 times now (fuel cap) and i am thinking of changing the evap valve since I keep getting the check engine light in relation to it.
Nope, no problems with gas caps. Not going to talk about this anymore, as I got no wood next to me to knock on...
How hard is it to change brake lines on an R55? I bought some stainless braided lines and need to change them out.
Easy if you have the right one's. Took 2 tries on my 03 justa. Those SS lines are nice, mainly because my 03 won't likely blow 1 for a long time... Hard on the brakes!!!, you will feel it Mark
The throw-out bearing is probably on it way out. Does it feel "crunchy" when you press down on the clutch pedal? S/C Fluid MINI says is a lifetime fill and it's not exactly an easy thing to maintain. There is an article in the Library here on Motoring Alliance about Supercharger Oil Service. Belt replacement, hmm, not sure on that, I do it once a year to be safe, then again my annual mileage is pretty low compared to many at about 10k a year.
I hope you are correct cause I have never done it and not sure aobut the bleeding of the brakes but I am about to find out! Hopefully it will stop after I take off!?!?!
I purchased Vorshlag Front Camber Plates and KW V1 Coil Overs kit and I am looking to purchase either a full set of front and back or just back arm links. Any input as far as the arm links is greatly appreciated. For my non s 04 cooper
Camshaft 'tuning'? What is the mover of your r53 in traffic?? On the hiways?? making long sweeper turns?? It is the TORQUE!! Yes? 15% vs a 17% pulley.. seeing on how the 17% spins the SC up faster.. no contest!! for the TORQUE, the 17% is the one. ( there are other issues on 15% or 17% but just for this basic discussion, yes) You have a r53 with X Hp and Y mods. Most of your friends have close to the same HP and mods, yes? Budget.. is the name of the power play in todays economy.. but.. you want to have the edge over your companions. Cool.. gotta good deal on a 17% pulley!! make it happen! wait, a few of your friends are already on the 17%. ( need Pulley/ Belt/ Install labor) You have read that there is MORE power in raising compression!! Look at those 9:1 pistons. Wait, you dont want to overhaul the engine for a few more torques, not yet any ways!! How about 'milling ' the cylinder head?? that is also a good easy way to bump up to a 8.8-8.9: compression! ( Head gasket/ labor to R&R / Labor to mill) RATZ... This is getting stupid, all you want is a few more Torque !! Well.. 'change the cam phase' !! If you do it your self ( not that hard if you know the difference between a wrench and a screwdriver), figure a full day for the novice ( actual time can be as quick as 1.0-1.5 hrs) Depending on the camshaft you have ... gains can be enough to put you in the front of the pack, in Torque, HP, and even better gas mileage!! SOOooo... the question.. Why not?? Just asking........................... Thumper
questions I have a '03 n/a cooper the throttle response or engine torque is lacking taking off in 1st. any solutions?
