Pit looks pretty flat from where we are. I think it might be a visual effect. On a side note, trying to take a picture of a fast-moving car with the point-and-shoot camera requires a certain degree of timing. Hopefully I'll get to post some pictures tonight when we get back to the hotel.
Think thats an optical trick, pit lane appears to be flat, just the way the picture was taken with the uphill in the back makes it look downhill.
Should have thought of that. I'll have one tomorrow. Today was about 200+ picture day plus some vids. I'll try to post them as I can.
Nothing to do with F1 except that every business is pandering to the "F1 fans" Tonight it's Texmex margarita time:
I figured that would happen. Verizon Wireless is actually a 50/50 joint venture between Verizon Communications and Vodafone. :ihih:
Got a few minutes so I figured I'd add some "experience" comment. The Austin venue is very nice. The people are friendly, the locals seem to have done a good job. Traffic was not too bad. Even getting out on the two lane highway it only took us half hour to get home. However, they are definitely not prepared for the crowds inside the track. While the beer and alcohol are plentiful, just about every vendor ran out of food by 12:30. At least on our side of the track by the grandstands. Not only bad for people, but I shutter to think how much money was left on the table due to poor planning. Also, some other stuff. We purchased Fast Access passes for the track so we would not have to stand in lines to get in. Nobody knew nothing about it and the general attitude was "we might get them working tomorrow". That was a wrong answer. The wife went all "business management" on their ass and the lane was set up and established in five minutes flat. The trams, which are supposed to get people from the parking lots to the gates, while promised, where hard to find. Volunteers (kudos to Bernie for figuring out a way not to pay people) knew very litte about anything. Asking about trams elicited a deer in the headlight stares. I don't mind walking the 2-3 miles (we do it every other morning at least), but it's just annoying. Well, off to watch all the support races, P3 and Quali.
Saturday, qualifying day. Just in case, a lady is always prepared. Only took 25 minutes to get to the track today. Might have something to do with leaving early, but with events starting at 7:00 am, I really don't mind.
