I plan on setting up my lawn chairs tomorrow night up on Crosswoods (High Street and I-270) to watch the street rods cruise. We will be somewhere on the east side of Crosswoods Blvd. in front of the restaurants. Is anyone else coming up to join in the fun? This is becoming an annual event for some of us MoM's.
There are grass verges along the side of the roads here that people sit on. Bring a lawn chair, a cooler full of your favorite beverage and hand out while hot rods cruise by, taunt police and this year probably overheat too. http://goo.gl/maps/J488
I live right around there!! You guys going Saturday? Would love to look at some Hot Rods!! Any specific meeting place and time?
Will be there Friday night. Saturday I'm going to the car show in Dublin. That's a great show with classics and exotics. It's like cars and coffee on steroids!
Yep I work on Metro and this morning was a fun drive to the office. Hot rods on the interstate and a bunch of cool stuff on Metro.
Supposedly a Veyron was recently at that high end detail shop in New Albany getting all prepped for the Arthritis Show. If you have never seen one in person, go see it. The attention to detail in every little thing on these is incredible.
It's the classic show for the arthritis foundation. I'm going early in the morning to try and miss the heat.
Meet someplace first on the way to the Classic Show? Early is good, it's gonna be quite toasty Saturday.
I went to the dublin show after the work day today with my dad since we both work in Dublin. There were some really cool cars there; first time I've been probably won't be the last. No sign of the Veyron yet. There was one section of cars that had me scratching my head. I'm not a big fan of these myself but what is the deal with the PT Cruisers!? Not only were there 10-12 of them (could be more since all the cars weren't there yet) but they were totally customized!! Had no idea there was that kind of following/love for the PT Cruiser!
I'm headed over to Dublin around 10:00 or so. Judging starts at 12:30 so I figure that most of the cars will be in place by 10:00.
Went early, ran into Nick. Lots of great cars, but dang..it jsut got too darn HOT to wander around. Saw the Veyron as I was leaving. Then ran into Mark and Blake as I was pulling out. Broke out the camera too. Pics later. I need to cool down some first.
We lasted about 90 minutes in the broiler and then headed back home. Some great looking cars....the Veyron is unbelievable! I saw 3 real Hemi Cudas and an AMC SC Rambler that brought back some faint memories. I might go over and check out the street rods at the hotels tonight when it starts to cool down.
