The car has been fixed. And hit again 3 months later. In the exact same spot and only half a block away. T-Boned by a Camry that made a left into me. That also has been fixed some time ago. -

As for a cop's response to the scene, next time tell 'em your neck and back are hurting as a resut of the prang. That'll fix her a$$ too. -

Lol.... I saw a Chipmunk suicide once on a rally. One of our club members had a MCS with 4 driving lights mounted way down low, under the front bumper. He hit a Chipmunk somewhere on the rally route and his little head got caught between the light bar and the bit of paintwork under the lower grill. It looked like the little guy was staring up into the engine bay thinking "Damn... does he have a W2A intercooler on this thing?"
Apparently it took a hammer and a pair of pliers to separate him from the car... :eek6: -

Never Ever leave the scene without one of these !!!!!
A Police report
Weather the accident is your fault or the other drivers fault you need to get a police report. If you find someone that witnessed the accident get their information.
Do not leave the scene, Get the other persons information and give them yours. The first thing to do is write down their plate number in case they decide to not wait around for the police. If they leave before the Police get there they will be cited for leaving the scene of an accident. Just be sure you hang around until the Police get there.
If when calling in the accident and the police say to exchange information and they won't come out to the scene you need to insist they do. If they even say they won't come out you need to stay at the scene and call your insurance agent/company and let them know while you are still at the scene if you want any coverage at all. If your UMC needs to cover your damage because the other driver had no coverage you need that Police report or you are out of luck.
It don't take much to add up into the big bucks to repair a Mini in this day & age. -

The CA cops typically don't respond unless there's an injury or damage to public property. In that event, a police report needs to be filed at the PD if you want to have one for your use. Injury is certainly the least preferred, but there are those who will develop an injury just to stand in line at the trough. Beware and get the witness statements whenever you can. They may just be (who) what saves your a$$. And, take some pics of the scene, including all vehicles involved too. Those can come in handy in a small-claims dispute.
Also, make sure you note if the other driver displays signs of being under the influence. That'll get ya a cop and info will weigh heavily, unless that is, you are found to be at fault after the cop shows up. :fingerscrossed:
Happy Motoring.
