You never know how the cop is going to react... most, I'm sure are fine upstanding folks doing their tough job (one that I wouldn't want), but some have their own perspective...
Years ago, my father told me this story after a long drive home:
To set the story: It was in the late 1980s and my father ran a sewing factory in Georgia. He had $2000 in his annual budget and hadn't spent any of it that year because nobody had asked (for t-ball team sponsorships, etc). When a local LEO came in and asked for a donation for equipment in late December, he said "Great... how does $2000 sound?", and wrote him a check. The following week, he got a little gold metal shield to attach to his license plate that signifies a donor of more than just a few bucks.
Now to the accident. My father is driving behind car A, which turns on his left turn signal, stops, waits for an opening and then turns left. My father, car B, stops. Car C isn't paying attention and rear-ends him squarely. After monkeying about in the car for a few min, Driver C comes forward to trade info and a cop arrives 5 min later. Apparently Driver C got on his CB and called his brother, a local LEO! The LEO talks to his brother for a few minutes and then comes forward to my dad and says "Why in the hell were you stopped in the middle of the road, BOY?" (You folks who lived in the south will understand the voice inflection in the word "BOY"... especially when said to a 40+ year old man). He accused my father of causing the accident without asking any questions at all and started writing tickets for multiple 'infractions'.
He walked to the back of the car to get the license plate # to complete the tickets he was writing up. His face suddenly dropped when he saw the license plate with the gold shield... the tickets were ripped in half and stuffed in his back pocket. The tone was much nicer when he got back to the driver's window... "Um... I'm sorry Mr. Granger... you are obviously an honest man and this was a simple accident where you were rear ended. I'll take care of this and will send you the accident report in the morning. You are free to head on home and have a good evening."
I wish I had something like that little badge now...

These are a must as well as the KCCO fire sticker. -
Well now here is the thing.... You get your husband to have your license plate sealed! They can't run you over the radio to get any info off you. So a. They HAVE to pull you over. Or b. They just slide in behind you and watch you haul ass. More often then not... They choose b.
I also have that sticker.
