heres my jeep for now The green is a 2013, the silver was a 2012... until the mini gets here.. than it will be the Mini and the FJ
Good lookin rigs! If you could yank the top and doors off of an FJ with a solid front axle, I may have gone that way... Yoter wont have anything to do with any of that though.
thanks... I wanna get an older jeep to play with.. love to find a scrambler... I also do customer grill wraps for JK's
I just sold my first rig a month ago... Well it was more of a family pet... A '87 Samurai that I built, kept going, and wheeled the crap out of for almost 8 years! If it wasnt for the MINI, it would still be in the back yard, getting a buggy spring stretch or something crazy! The older the 4X the more durable the OE stuff actually was, and the aftermarket stuff is cheaper. I spent like a grand on all the parts to rebuild the entire engine in the Zook. (No it wasn't anywhere near stock)
Taking Erik and Teresa Jeepin tomorrow... Up the Leavenworth creek trail which parallels Argentine pass outside of Georgetown CO. The pass tops out at 13,200 feet if we can make it to the top, but we will be stopping at the Santiago gold mine (abandoned) for some great scenery. There is cell service for 80% of the trail, so plan on seeing pics from the climb, and more once we get back down to the city.
Phone didnt want to work up there today, but it was a great trip... I will have pics up sometime tomorrow.
Pictures as promised... Erik has more, if he wants to put them up.:beer This parking space looks good... 1904 Steam powered water pump... Well what's left of it. The summit of Argentine pass... Sitting on top of the Continental Divide... (I sent a small "sample" to Commiefornia! ) Santiago Gold Mine... Inside the mill... (The mine/mill was operational until the early 1980s, by two local residents of Georgetown) That's all I took that's worth sharing. One day I want to camp at Santiago, bet it would be creepy as **** in the middle of the night.:cornut:
Time to fire up the GoPro... Might hit the bigger rocks on Coney Flatts trail this weekend. It was a walk in the park in the old Sammy, but only had the Jeep up there once. The added length and with of the JKU adds a whole new level of fun! Anybody in the area that wants to go, you know how to get ahold of me...
More trail pics coming after tomorrow... Since I cant do anything to the MINI I am taking some friends up to crawl Coney Flatts. Its another long trail day to make the 15 mile loop, so don't expect anything before 6:00 pm mountain time... If we make it through the rock garden.
Waiting on the bumpers to actually hold the curvature of the car... The plastic was spread out around 1/2" total from where they should be. Just have to bolt them on and set it in the heat for a while (which I did over the last few weeks), they are not springing out now when I pop the fasteners loose, but I am giving it a little more time just to be sure.
Sorry, don’t recall hearing that name. This was my third time at this event. It is in/around Williamsburg, KY, just south of Corbin; about 10/15 miles into KY and down towards Jellico.
