Thanks again taxpayers!!! -
Why is old info about Fisker building Karma in Finland news again? ABC &Sarah Palin
As I said when this was first brought up there is no real story here. A classic case of American muckraking journalism.
-
First I heard that Ms Palin had said anything about it. That said how anyone could not deem this newsworthy when our government is in such a horrendous fiscal state is beyond me. This investment was highly speculative at best and shouldn't have been done....
Of course this comes to light at a time when as late as last week, our former community organizer of a President said: "I still say Solyndra was a good bet."
Really? -
Al Gore is invested in Fisker and Vice Pesident Joe Biden is from were? Delaware. He pushed hard and pulled all kinds of strings to save the old Boxwood GM plant so he could be the home town hero. They have been "re-tooling" the Fisker plant since GM stopped building the Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky there. There have been delays after delays in re-opening that place. I also live in Delaware and I am only 15 miles from the Fisker plant and I'll bet I'll still have to pay the $500 destination charge if I bought one.

I find it interesting that $592 million will get one's knickers in a bunch but $3-4 trillion down the Iraq-Afghanistan-Pakistan rat hole doesn't even raise an eyebrow. I hesitate to mention Afghanistan since we had cause to invade them but 8 years of dithering has made that a lost cause too.
Maybe Lindsay Graham's idea of rebuilding Lybia might be a better venture.
Big doesn't equal bad and small doesn't equal good. Just give me effective government.

List every new federal program over the past three years, their debt contribution, their actual result compared to their promise, and their contribution to growing entitlement and the rat hole that you refer to is minuscule at best.
-
Simply, waste is waste no matter the size.

Cheers!

That's cool, I just look at things from a small business owners point of view. We don't have endless amounts of money to fund portions of our business that are not productive. Thus decisions are made on whether something is succeeding at it's intended purpose and are we getting a return on our investment. If we aren't, we don't and can't afford to hire more people and invest more money in doing it the same way. We have to stop doing it or we risk our entire livelihood.
The Department of Energy was formed under Jimmy Carter with the sole function and noble goal of reducing our dependence on foreign oil.
Now decades and Billions of dollars later we have more dependance on foreign oil than the day it started. Read: it has not succeeded in it's mission.
Even now it grows day by day to this overbloated over funded government department that employs thousands of workers so that they can put money into such great investments as Solyndra and Fisker....
....and knowing all this, some still say more government, more people will fix it....
PS: Yes I do feel that Mr Churchill was spot on about socialism. History has proven him correct time and again.
