to all those who claimed all of the GPIIs would be sold out and how great it is...the words "I told you so" come to mind
i was told by a sales advisor buddy of mine they are offering 1900 off to employees on the GPII... so if anyone wants to negotiate over price with them

I do remember when I bought my MINI in 2007 there were still a few GP's out there on dealer lots that were marked down a little as well. So before anyone see's this as anything more than the wrong car for the current market area it is located in I think they need to remember the past.
Absolutely agree. i don't think that how quickly the GP sells out says anything about how good of a car it is, or how desirable it is...I do think Mini and some folks stretch a little bit when they say it's track ready....gonna need track pads and tires if your want the best out of that car on a track weekend.
The car is aimed at an extremely narrow niche of Mini buyers(and Mini buyers are already a tiny pool of the automotive landscape). The car is impractical for most people as a daily driver, and does not have the "goodies" that you can spec on every other Mini. Its comes in a single color and with graphics, further narrowing down the pool of potential buyers.
All of that, AND finding that even smaller pool of folks able/willing to pay the entry price for the car. It's gonna take time to sell those cars....
Me, I think it's a fabulous ride and if I didn't already own a track star, I would have one in my garage, no doubt....there's a video somewhere of the GPII being tested around a track. it's professionally produced with good sound and cameras all over the track. I have watch it many times....that car looks like a ball to toss around a track and the soundtrack is fantastic!
Yeah, it only matters if you like it, doesn't really matter what the rest of us think. It won't, however, prevent us from expressing our opinions!
It's a three-fold issue--BMW built too many of them, they didn't add enough power to the one's they built (hell, the stickier tires alone make up most of the time cut on the Nurburgring), and the novelty wore off with the first one.
But if you like the R56 (most of us know better :devil: ), this is by far the best incarnation of the R56.

I do agree they should have put more power in it but then why would BMW do that?! They would rather sell you a BMW and not a MINI
I think the GP2 is a great car. Part of the problem is the economy is bad. People just don't have a lot of extra money for a $39000 toy. I'm sure they will sell all of them soon. I just hope they go to people how will know what they have
