Looking very nice.
Warmer temperatures have finally arrived, although whether they're here to stay for good is still yet to be determined.
Even though the roads are still in sorry shape, I decided it was time to throw on the summer shoes before my winter treads melted into a puddle of rubbery goo.
Timing couldn't be better, the first autocross event is next weekend, and MOTD is at the end of the month!
Time for the photo overload:
What summer shoes did you strap on?
Look like Yokohama Advan AD08
The Team Dynamics look great! I looked at those for the GTI but ended up going a different route.
Yoko Advan AD08Rs. Came on the car, so I'm running them until they're bald, then I'll weigh my options. Not quite the best autocross tire (don't heat up fast enough), but they're a great summer tire for daily driving and competition use.
The car looks GREAT with those wheels. Excellent choice.
Very tasteful and clean, good choices all around!
Nice pictures, did you use lights or just the available lighting in the area?
Thanks! I was walking around the car admiring it today... I'm definitely happy with my choice.
No lights, just ambient - I've gotten pretty good over the years at using available light when photographing cars.
The finish on your wheels is gorgeous... Makes me think of re-doing my black set in a dark gray.
Tasty, makes me want to go clean mine right now.
Same. Pollen is a :mad5:.
I'm glad I went with the anthracite - I was previously considering High Power Silver but this was the only finish available without doing a custom order. I'm very satisfied!

So many round headlights in the Helix shop.
Up in the air she goes!
Whales makes a surprise appearance at Helix. This is becoming a tradition, it seems.
Let’s compare. Helix on the left, stock on the right… and something else in the middle.
Fin density and core innards of ‘Brand X’
And the Helix Intercooler.
And just for giggles, here’s what a stock intercooler looks like inside.
It wouldn’t be a visit to Helix without a cheesesteak. Thanks, Whales!
Stock intercooler in place.
Impressions? The numbers certainly don't lie, but my finely-tuned butt dyno doesn't either. Usually, at least. It was a pretty steamy day in the Philadelphia area on Thursday - and I ran the car hard on the way home from the shop. Pull after pull, the car felt as strong as it did on the first as it did the last - no apparent signs of heatsoak could be felt, and the car definitely felt stronger in the upper RPM range. It was a nice change from the wave of hot weather we had a week or two ago - the GP heatsoaked quickly with such a small factory intercooler.
Hay that 911 looks like a old friend of mine car! He went in to a laundry mat a long time ago and left it running. Some punk kid stole it.
Great GP! My buddy has #0073.
Still a great looking GP and the wheels are a nice addition !!
My goodness. This car is so very beautiful. Wonderful photography too.
A lot of good shots throughout this thread. What're you shooting with?
Canon 70D, Tamron 17-50 f/2.8, Canon 70-200 f/4L IS.
