United SportsCar Racing How shall we shorten this ... USCar Yeah, I gotta wonder how much some marketing consulting company was paid for this. United SportsCar Racing
Well they did Scott, they asked us all. Some dude in Fla came up with that one. I didn't submit any naming ideas either.
I meant they didn't ask me if the name was OK before deciding on it.....as they should have. :biggrin5:
:cornut: Symbionese Liberation Army(Patty Hearst's Stockholm Syndrome Buddies) WOW! Take me back. You must be as old as me, 60yo. Jason
Class structure, in a snip from AutoBlog article Grand-Am, ALMS merger results in new United SportsCar Racing series:
ALMS is gone from Mid-Ohio for this year But I didn't see anything that said the new series wasn't coming next year. If that's the case I probably won't be getting the VIP pass
This year we get Grand Am, no ALMS. Next year after the merger, we get squat. They do not have Mid Ohio on the post merger schedule. Also this year the NASA Championships are gone from Mid Ohio.
Wow Mark, that sucks for us & Mid-Ohio. How can a track stay in business if they lose big events? Sad stuff.
I can't find anything on 2014 tracks. But if they're not at Mid-Ohio this will be the last year for a VIP ticket. I'll just go to Vintage and Indy with a general admission. This really sucks.
They haven't announced 2014 venues yet. Don't expect anything other than speculation any time soon either, apparently they "would like to finalize and release by or before the ALMS Oct. 19 Petit Le Mans season finale."
Steve, if I remember correctly when the merger was announced they also listed the tracks that would get the combined new series and a point was made that Mid-Ohio was cut. The comment made in the article that although they felt that MO was a good venue they just didn't have room for it. I'll try to find the article.
