Maybe you're thinking of the 2013 ALMS schedule posted here? See also your understandable response in the next post. :biggrin5: I've seen a lot of 2014 venues lists but I think they've all been either suggestions or speculation. I could be wrong though...I'm due...
:cornut: Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...........Ohio and New Jersey are fairly high on the population list so I wonder, what's the deal?:eek6::eek6: Jason
Probably the same reason that PIR doesn't run the big races........too much money to upgrade the facilities for them.
VIR lost Grand Am last year but we got ALMS and ALMS is on the schedule this year.... Will we be left our entirely in 2014? Will miss the name Grand Am but "United SportsCar" sounds pretty good, now will the racing be as good? I think better if they keep the amount of classes limited!!
Scott, not the case with Mid-Ohio. This facility is constantly being upgraded and hosts Indy Car and this year, a Nationwide race. It has had all the premier race series run here over the years including Can-Am, Trans-Am, IMSA Camel GT, Grand Am, ALMS, NASA Championships and the SCCA Valvoline Run-Offs. And that's just on the car side of the ledger. On the motorcycle side the premier events continue to be a part of the schedule. I don't know what they are thinking but as I stated before, please bring over the Austrailian V8 Supercars and I'll be there.
Steve you are again correct. No ALMS in 2013 but they look forward to the opportunity to bring the unified series to Mid-Ohio in 2014. Let's keep our fingers crossed. This year the Mid-Ohio schedule is lacking a bit without ALMS or the NASA Championships but I purchased my two VIP passes anyway. The Nationwide Series NASCAR race could be interesting :crazy:
PIR used to hold those races too. But they got to the point that they couldn't convince folks that w/o some major upgrades those races would dissappear........which they did. We have even lost the NASCAR West race this year.......
Here's one Mid-Ohio gain. Maybe this means Mid-Ohio is still on the short list for USCR? Lamborghini Super Trofeo series headed to US (Autoweek.com)
Why is Lime Rock on the list. Its basically an oval with one right hand turn and only 1.9 miles around. Compared to VIR or Mid-Ohio.
Looks like it could be entertaining. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1RN32Gik8s]Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo 2010 - Paul Ricard - Round 8 - YouTube[/ame]
Here's another surprising (to me) development. Due to the impending merger, and I assume at least partly because of the deletion of the ALMS P1 class, Audi is seriously thinking about running their own DP car in USCR in 2014. Not so simple though... Audi confirms it wants to build a Daytona Prototype (Racecar-Engineering.com)
I say those are maximums and they should use their V8. Something tells me that wouldn't be much of a handicap for Audi. They'll probably get a special dispensation to use the V10 though.
The new DP rules gets it own Hitler video. This is rather funny, but sad too. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbHFQZbqZmY]2014 DP rules - YouTube[/ame]
Dos anyone know if there is going to be a Jag F Type racing? Heard one of these hammering down the street the other day :eek6: OMGosh! Already sounds like a race car! Anyone else hear one yet?
