It was great right up until my office building made this horrific CRACK/BOOM sound...then....notsomuch!:eek6:

It also didn't help that my wife and little ones were at home, in our 58yr old brick townhouse and phone lines were JACKED. In hindsight, now that everyone and everything is ok, it was an interesting experience.

No. They evacuated us for a bit and then let us come back in. I only went as far as the front desk when I came back in and heard the call come over the radio that non-essentials were cleared to go home. I turned around and left before the rush!!

Upon further inspection, there are certainly a few things in this building that are a little....off. (aside from myself:D) Door frames a little crooked, some concrete ceiling debris in the stairwells...sprinkler pipes an inch out of position....just little things.:eek6: I'm sure it will be fine, it's not like the federal govt would lie to its employees or cut corners on safety, right?

Good old Ft Meade. That was my last duty station before I got out. Place has changed a lot since those days.

I remember the days before we were shunted to the outer lots. The building was not even clad in copper yet and we could go in the service entrance to use the facilities.

Is the Annapolis Junction Sports and Touring Car Club even in existence anymore?

That building is down right scary looking now days. I could tell ya some stories, but I'd have to shoot myself. :D

Did you ever go to the Annapolis Junction Restaurant? They had huge sandwiches and asked if you wanted it "taken through the garden", which made it even bigger.

My building is actually IN Annapolis Junction and, unfortunately, I'm not sure either of the two places you guys mentioned are still in existence. We have the Junction Deli...not sure if it's the same place tho... I've been working here for ~5 years and the place has changed a ton since I started, so I'm sure it's WAY different than when you guys were here!!

    Henkels for Ham Sandwiches

Of course we went to Henkels for Ham Sandwiches through the garden, I grew up in Laurel and went to HS there. The place is still famous in the minds of anyone who ever eat there.
We used to say it was a dinner and lunch the next day size sandwich.
