I gather this is the final one of its kind. Saw the making off on Amazon. Lots of stuff they planned didn't work out due to weather and broken cars
IIRC, it's out of one of the new Ford GTs. They talked about the build in one of the "Gymkhana Files" episodes, on Amazon.
Maybe it’s me, but I am getting tired of the “Gymkhana” videos. It has turned into the same thing over and over with a different million dollar custom built cars.
I always thought that Gymkhana is the same thing as Autocross. You can drive anything to Autocross, also, it is easier to spell than Gymkhana.
This I knew.....(used to attend them in the late 60's early 70's) "In English-speaking countries outside the Indian subcontinent, a gymkhana is a multi-game equestrian competition held to display the training and talents of horses and their riders, particularly in speed events. The term is also used as the name of a timed automotive obstacle course, see Gymkhana (motorsport)and Gymkhana (motorcycle)." Never heard of the show by that name.
When I was watching the Gymkhana files - sounds like they are going to do more. While this one was good, I do agree it has become a little repetitive.
The last one was supposed to wrap up the 10 years they have done this, with some "homage" elements to the previous highlights. Things didn't really work out as it showed in the Gymkhana files. Thing is, that series on Amazon was far more entertaining that the end product. It's just that the primary Youtube audience would never make it though those 50 minute episodes without a seizure. from instagram withdrawal. Just to see the amount of production effort that goes into any shot was far more interesting than to see a new trick or car. I thing they'll do more things like Climbkhana, which I think was far more fun to watch than this 10 installment of their main franchise. Just compare the to the dullest of dull record runs by the electric VW car racing up that mountain...
