Anyway you can read the codes?
-
P10D0 is Charge air temperature sensor, plausability, cold start: Temperature too high
What that really means..heh, beats me. But it does get you further into diagnosing the issue.
We have the full set of MINI OBD Codes here in the library - ECU Codes Chart - 2nd Generation MINI - Library -
Thanks, Nathan! I was just going by what I was told at AutoZone.
I tried to erase the code but it persists. Maybe I was doing it wrong. Is there a way to clear the fault codes without a scanner? (Long story, but I no longer have the scanner)
jbewley, the light looks like this:

Don't know, Metalman. This 2011 is my first one. I commend MINI for distinguishing between minor and major engine malfunctions, though.
I cracked and bought my own OBD II scanner. I erased the code, properly this time, and the CEL, half yellow or otherwise, has not not appeared since.:fingerscrossed: My MCS runs fine.
Before I erased the code, I fiddled the dash computer. I found a "CC-ID 029" in CHECK-INFO. According to my research, this code indicates a failed HPFP. Has anyone ever heard of this? -

Get it in for warranty..... But unfortunately you don't want to erase the fault code. Your dealer will need the fault for warranty repair. This is a known MINI issue. MINI has extended the warranty coverage on this item..... If you live in the US........
EDIT: but only for 2007, 2008 & 2009......

Well crap! This CEL just popped up! We've already had to replace the pump a year ago in Albequerque! And MINI of Dallas can't see us until Tuesday.

I had the same code pop up. Dealer said it was not HPFP.
After I ran the existing fuel out, got fresh gas the error cleared itself in bout 150 miles.
Hasn't been back in 3000 miles I guess. -

I got the half engine CEL when I had ice in my intake but that obviously wouldn't be the problem. If it comes back, drive it to the dealership. If I remember correctly it says it's safe to drive just get it checked out asap.
