Probably coilovers. Set high from the factory to meet European pedestrian impact requirements.
Then DIY from there.....

Front: Boring, same as JCW? Even the fist gen GP had it's own front bumper cover.
Side: Boring-er. Appears to be the same side skirt as the JCW, not really a fan of decals.
Rear: FINALLY something to get excited about. Love the look of the rear! Would like a more pronounced rear wing though, seems a bit toned down to me.
Overall, I'm sure dealers are gonna try to rape anyone looking to buy one, but I think I'd get one IF the price were right. -
Waiting to see all the numbers....

As was mentioned, too much like JCW car other then rear spolier for the most part and take those side decals off, and maybe paint the roof red, to tie it all together...
At $39,000 might be a bargin compared to a well equiped JCW...considering it's limited production.. -

Like it, I could do 40K, expensive track toy.

I really like it but I can't fathom paying 40K for one with other vehicles near/under the price point that would be easily comparable if not better.
The 'Ring time is VERY impressive but I wonder what sort of times it lays down on a shorter more consistent track like VIR. It would be a better comparison for reference for myself. I'm not as familiar with Nurburgring times. I know a car mag here in the US does a comparo on VIR. I forget which one, but it woulf be neat to see how the new GP does there. -

There is some speculation it's faster in part due to the new (really really soft grippy) tires that were specifically developed for this GP.

i think this is the first special edition of the 2nd gen era that is packing a JCW package and a aero kit...unlike the myriad of others which for the most part was a standard S with a special paint

The MC50 was an early package and it had a bunch of JCW dress-up stuff on it (carbon dash, etc.), but I don't think that it had any extras in terms of suspension or power. -
But there is no comparison to a GP, it is apples and oranges. The GP has an entirely different focus. Lightness + aero + more power, and now add bigger 6-piston brakes and lots of stickers to the list. -
Nobody said anything, so I will... Those wheels suck.
I have seen sexier wheels on old west wagon trains.
Leave the horse shoes on the horses and PUT SOME NICE WHEELS ON THE GP! -

I guess I'm not into the minutia of the MINI design. GP vs. JCW doesnt seem to be much different in style to me.
Given what it's designed to do I'm more concerned with the aero-parts and their effects on stability at speed. The weight of the "ugly" wheels and the type of shocks used, etc...
