Sorry I meant different iterations within the same brand, of course there is the new front wheel drive BMW built from the Mini platform... There is nothing wrong with them doing that, for a car brand to grow and for dealers to not only survive, but be profitable, they have to have more than one or two models to choose from. The Clubman and the Countryman were great additions to the brand... MINI is a brand that will appeal to a lot of folks for many years to come and I for one wish them the very best. The last six years of my Mini ownership have been filled with smiles for miles..!. When BMW introduced the first gen MINI, it was a breath of fresh air in and otherwise stale market place!!
But it makes cars less unique and more stale in the marketplace. The best thing about the 1st Gens and Classics is they are different from everthing else on the road. The 2nd gen cars look alot like the new VM beetle from the front with a grill added. :nonod: Sorry it's like when someone shows you a new baby and you say; "Ahhh He/She is so cute" but on the inside you are like WTF that thing is butt ugly.:eek6::lol:
Silly me! When I bought my 09 R55 S, I thought I was buying a BMW engine. What y'all have taught me...
The uniqueness is definetly not what it was. We have a monthly sitings thread on our club board which was cool a few years ago, but now I would be writing a book if I kept up with that thread. Ok, and the ugly baby comment just cracks me up!!!!
Around here MINIs are still not real prevalent, though there are definitely more than 3 years ago when I bought my car. Rarely do I see another Clubman. I have never seen a Countryman in Tallahassee. Surely there are some here, I just haven't crossed their paths. I realized the other day that Tallahassee is as far away from a MINI dealership as you can get and still be in Florida.
The same at my location. Didn't see a whole lot of Coupes around. Once the Clubbies hit the road I started to see more MINIs in general, except for the Roadster, still haven't seen one of those yet. I take back the comment about going full circle, MINI still has another model to go.
