If there's enough interest I may be able to get these for about $700ish for those who are still interested in getting a header for their MINIs.
Yes, that is some nice hardware. I almost made that selection, but opted for the street version instead. BTW, about how much longer is the race as compared to the street? I mean is it just an inch or two, or something significant like maybe a foot?
This is just from memory, but I think we ended up lengthening the wires for the o2 sensor about 4-6". It's definitely less than a foot.
I'm not sure length is directly proportional to power. My guess is that neither one makes hardly any power unless combined with certain other mods, such as a ported head.
Well, I think more specifically the length of the primaries are important in determining the shape of the power curve and the peak point. Thinking about it more, the street header is the best option for my purposes, and I am getting great service from my RMW street header.
This reply lacks context continuity from the discussion as it stands, so I’ll fill in the blanks. A question was asked at the end of “the lost time episode†about contact information for the person who made a header I once owned. Juston Poole - [email protected], Juston also does pre-cat delete for the OE header at reasonable cost. Juston’s sequential custom header in the photo is made of 16 gauge mild steel. That header was too loud for me in the long run; a ported OE header with the pre-cat removed is more tolerable in a daily driver, and the high rpm trade-off for gains aren’t missed. I had the ALTA w/catback and engine light problem with cat code. Got RMW Header and same problem, welded the bung, still came on. I had this problem with the header for over a year with no solutions. I finally got it taken care of and now no more driving with service engine light on. It was really a pain in the ass, but I love the HP although the RMW gives me more lower end it did take away from the top.
My OBX is just fine! Wrapped I believe it is as good as a 700 header! Naturally every header has an operating range and design for that specific range. So no header is best for all rpm levels.
No I did not. The attached plot dyno example had a donut section rather than flex accordion. Versions with larger primaries, collector tubing, and cat/test pipe diameters were also made.

So there was a good and valid reason to bring this back from the dead? I'd agree if you posted often and had something to add here. Other sites have this dreck, lets all try to make this different from those and keep comments like the above to ourselves, unless in context of course.
