    Heads up on HEAD Cores...

Here in the US there is becoming an issue with Core heads purchased from a second party to cover the core costs!! This is sometimes a good thing.. however!

People are buying Heads with OUT the cam caps !! ( the caps that hold the camshaft and rocker arms on the head.) There are 5 of these caps.

SOOoo... Some responses as to why this isnt important..!
    1) the heads are machined all the same way and the caps are interchangeable!! SO the need to have the caps off that head isnt important!!
WELL... YES they are all machined!! and YES most of the caps are interchangeable! The main word here is MOST!! What about core shift?? Or machine bumping just a bit out of calibration?? All this will cause a cap to be correct to accept the camshaft.. but MAYBE NOT on a different Head! Yes??
That MAYBE really SUX when it is YOUR Head and you waste a camshaft or the Head!!

MAKE sure you get the cam caps for that cylinder head!! Or you might be the unlucky example!! yes??
    Just me....................................
