I'd say it is better to catch and fix a slight leak before it becomes a major leak.

It's only been less than 12 hours, most of those overnight. Add in the weekend when the site is slower and I'm not surprised there has yet to be a helpful reply to an issue that is not at all common.
Please give it some time and I'm sure you'll get some quality assistance. -

What flavor MINI? R50-R53 or R56?

I had his same part dial on my R53 a few years ago. I had and oil slick from the heat exchanger to my rear bumper on the passenger side. (Free rustproofing :ihih
Mine was not the cheap O rings and gasket, I had to have the whole oil heat exchanger replaced because of a cracked pipe.
Good luck with yours. -
Excuse the impatience, Nate. Was just bumpin'.
Crashton, it's an 02 R53 w/ only 48k on it. I know age has taken its toll on those rubber parts. Stocked some of those random o-rings but missed this 1. Just wondering if any out there has just changed the 2 o-rings to cure this long term or had to just put in a new exchanger.
Dave, pipe cracked by itself? Surprised you didn't go for an external oil cooler. -

When you have it off to replace the o-rings inspect the assembly. I'd guess that the pipwe cracking is not the normal failure.
There is someone selling the o-rings in the classifieds.

Dave... Keep the rubber on the ground! You don't brake stuff that way...

Guess, I'll have to learn from Dave & stop jumpin' the car.:biggrin5:
Just jacked the car earlier for closer inspection. Oil is coming from exchanger. Nothing too bad. Just slight weeping that must've collected on the bottom torx bolt. Car's due for coolant & oil change soon anyway. I'm tempted to swap out the exchanger & the O-rings, of course. Your say, guys? -
or maybe that would be fun.
Drive it like you stole it! :biggrin5::biggrin5:
