180 closed till wed

I was just listening to the weather....180 is going to be closed until wed....lots of sand and gravel. Richard B Russell also.

Just makes for more fun, and spacing behind another car.

 

Typically everyone meets at the hotel on Fri, then group up and do drives.
Sat everyone meets at the winery for group photo, then go on a couple drives. RC racing and hanging in the parking lot late afternoon. Then dinner and auction at the Troll on Sat eve.

 

Although there are several runs announced at the winery, several members from the local clubs in Atlanta will be making other twisty runs at a more interesting pace. See everyone at the event.

 

Looking forward to the afternoon run John. The Helendorf is the hotel just before the bridge downtown. The important landmark is the Troll Bar/Rest. on the river, below the bridge, where everyone goes for drinks on Saturday.

 

The Helenblitz folks sent me a note about the 2012 event. Feb 17-19 are the dates. This thread has been moved into the Helenblitz 2012 area too.

I'm sure the folks involved will be along and post more info about the event soon.

Several of the GA MINIAC will be there! Although, likely just for Saturday.

 

This is for our local club, upstatemins, based out of Greenville, SC. I was looking to find out what the setup was but there doesn't seem to be an organization page ala MOTD.

 

There is a facebook page but it has nothing to speak off.

About to make reservations

Talked to my wife last night. There isn't much out there on this event but Erika likes it so I am gonna take a chance:fingerscrossed:. Erika, I'll look you and your husband up while we are there. Looking forward to meeting you.

10+ hours from Northern Virginia should shake the cobwebs out of the new MINI. We'll be celebrating our 11th wedding anniversary on Saturday. Our 10 year celebration was a cruise to the Dominican Republic. My bet is nerding out on MINIs all weekend might just eclipse Mayan ruins (for me at least).

If anyone has attended this in the past, please pass on any tips (e.g., try to come in on the SC side, etc.), experiences, etc. I am also wondering what the vendor turnout will be like. I know Way Motor Works will be there (I have my eye on a 19mm or 22mm rear sway bar). Also looking for sunroof vinyl. WRR hasn't mentioned it (unless I was zoning).
