All I've got so far for pics is a crappy cell phone pic. I'll try and get one this weekend that is a decent quality.

Great story. Welcome to the addiction and I'm glad you took the advise from another MA Addict
This is the friendly MINI site with accurate information and a cast of real characters! I'll send over the spoiler installation instructions sometime today as promised. They will also be available in the MA Library by the end of the weekend.

As I was sitting here, reading the warm welcoming responses, I realized.....I lied. :biggrin5:
Actually, I guess technically, I own (or at least pay for) two Mini's.
Long story short, my youngest needed a new car after a police officer T-boned her car on a country road last year around late spring time. I got the call in the middle of the work day out here (on the left coast), and about had a heart attack thinking that she might have been seriously hurt.
November rolls around, and Christmas was around the corner, and my ex (my daughter's mother), knowing my wife and I had discussed getting her a car for high school graduation (before she went off to college), asked if we were in a position to help get her a replacement used car. So....I called the nearest Mini dealer in the area (thinking "Hey, these cars would be great for a college aged girl! Cheap on gas, and pretty reliable."), and sight unseen arranged the purchase of a brand new R56 MC. Spice orange, with a black top (they don't make a lime green one, which is what my daughter always talked about). She didn't have a clue until Christmas morning, and a children's Mini Cooper was wrapped as her present...with a real set of keys in it. (Ex-wife's idea)
I didn't see the car until this past summer when she graduated, and the wife and I flew out in Florida for her ceremony. When I saw her drive up to the hotel (very proudly, I might add) in that little Mini I remember thinking, "You know, that is a slick little car!".
Now honestly, we had already test drove a Coupe (one weekend, when I was pondering a Mini for my daughter's graduation present), but it was more of lark doing it. After seeing my daughter's Mini, I couldn't get the thought of the little turd out of my head.:biggrin5:
At any rate, that's how I ended up with a Coupe...because I couldn't stand the thought of my daughter having all the fun! :cornut: -
