I just picked up my 2011 MCS Convertible yesterday - I didn't want to go to bed last night. I wanted to keep driving! I've wanted a convertible for a long, long time and to make my first one a Mini was a dream come true. I can't believe how much fun it is - and having other drivers point, stare and give me a thumbs up is pretty cool too. Looking forward to meeting others here to learn more about this new adventure I've embarked on.
Welcome to M/A.... I suspect it's gotta be spectacular to be driving "Rosebud" on a clear night with the top down, out in NM, with a sky full of stars and the radio blasting.
Welcome to M/A! I used to travel to NM alot and always wanted to bring the mini but had to fly in and drive the rental cars instead. Of course the rentals couldn't be as much fun as the mini especially up in the mountains around Los Alamos and Las Vegas. I plan to maybe drive back out in the mini for the Balloon Fiesta one of these days.
VERY NICE CHOICE, LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING MORE PICS WE HAVE HAD A COUPLE DAYS HERE IN NM TO ENJOY THAT TOP DOWN DRIVE. ENJOY
Reedspacer - we are just up the road in Rio Rancho. I see so many Minis here in town (but no one waves..boo!). I will try to get some pictures up soon - to be honest, I get in her, drop the top, and forget about everything: work, time, the phone, coming home on time....you know! :aureola:
I'm a member of the MINI club there in Albuquerque(New Mexico Mini Motoring) but I don't make it up there very much from the far West Texas area. There are some really good people I pretty much only get to see every several months. One, Perry Yardley, is a tire expert if you have any questions about tires. His wife, Alisha, has a nice Cooper S 'vert with a Snoopy "Joe Cool" theme. My other buddy, Mark, has a really nice GP and a Sidewalk Edition. Ken Martin, a technician at Cliff's Amusement Park, lives in Rio Ranch and tracks his MINI a lot. If you ever hook up with these guys, they will be like old friends the first day you meet them.
