Hello everyone, Getting ready to buy my first Mini S doing some research finding out what I should look for before I buy it.
Thanks Jason I should have put in there it's a '04 S 6 speed with 100,000 miles going to be my retirement toy.
Well you certainly have come to the right place . . . . Because here everyone has a Mini and an OPINION . . . mine is the best :biggrin5: just sayin. !!!!!!
Nathan's got a MINI of the month contest well established. He can turn that over to a minion and start a 'Best Opinion of the Month' contest. (IMO) Welcome to M/A LoLowe! Tune in to ozarkmini.com once in a while and be ready to sign up for MITO (MINIs in the Ozarks) held annually at Eureka Springs and especially sign up for Galen's Elk Run. MITO is very well run and heaps of fun.
2004 S R53, 6speed, leather interior, Sunroof or full moonroof i'll post a pic when I pick it up and get it home
I may be somewhat prejudiced, but the MINI you chose is one of the best. Congrats enjoy the ride. :useless
Welcome, from one "Newbie" to another. You should call a local Mini Dealership, with the VIN to see if there are any outstanding recalls which weren't done. If you're purchasing from a car dealer, find out what kind of warranty; mechanical, electrical, if any, and for how long. Find out what's not covered. If buying from private party: any service records, updates or extra parts lying around; wheels, parts, anything else you can get. After taking ownership, look at our members garages and see what others have done with their "toys". It's a wealth of information.
Hey thanks Zipy I'll give the dealer a call and find out about the recalls the only thing I have found wrong with it is the front air dam was damaged by a curb and now the lower bumper is loose. Had a buddy put it on a lift couldn't see any damage to the a-arms or accident damage that was repaired so that is a good sign going for a nice drive tomorrow on some country roads feel out the transmission.
