Hi Dave....WELCOME to M/A!I can't help you with your key fob issue, as my MINIs are all Generation 1s, and because I have never had any issues with my key fobs. However, fear not, there are a lot of Gen 2 owners here who can and will offer some solutions. Good luck! :fingerscrossed:

When my cell phone went through the wash, the first thing I did was remove the battery, then I rinsed it out with 95% isopropyl alcohol and let it dry. It survived.
If you didn't take your key apart and dry it, before using it, I'm afraid it's dead. -
